Our History

The company originated in 1994 as Healthstar Pharmaceutical Services (HPS), specifically designed to refurbish and sell BFS machinery and associated tooling. We began to offer contract manufacturing services in 1995.

In 1996, HPS was acquired by Vital Signs, Inc. and renamed Vital Pharma Inc., for the purpose of manufacturing an injectable medical device that it had recently acquired the rights to.

In 2000, a change was made in business focus away from building BFS machines and tooling, in favor of contract manufacturing and a significant sterile ophthalmic product line was developed.

In 2003, Vital Pharma was acquired by a group of private investors and now operates a second facility where it continues to expand its blow-fill-seal capabilities.
